I miss the sounds of home
My son's trying to teach me
Small voices to some
Yet they fill my heart
With many moods
What is it about a place that feels of home?
That feeds your heart, soul, mind and spirit.

I miss the sounds of home
My children bringing me small gifts
Found along the way
Those rare moments when we understand
Without words
What needs to be said

I miss the sounds of home
A whispered "I love you Momma J"
As sleep takes them over
I miss the sounds of home
