Ghost Ships

Ghost Ships

Ghost ships on the horizon
Fading in and out
Shadows of a being
Shrouded in the mist

Ghost ships are far away
But not out of sight
They ride through
A murky ocean

Ghost ships cut through
Calm tides
Get absorbed
In a foggy mist

Ghost ships thrive on memories
They manifest your dreams
But turn into nightmares
As easy as you breath

Ghost ships never leave you
Although you wish they would
Always there in the shadow
Holding on to your past

Ghost ships are hiding
Someone or somebody
They appear and disappear
become a fleeting vision

Of all you left behind

I like this poem. Those pesky ghost ships a nice image. They appear suddenly. They also bring regrets. Well written.

Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." The Lord's blessings be with you.
