Fallin' To You

Walkin’ with you beside me, shoulders touching
My heart beating as fast as the footsteps that touch the floor
We walk out the doors, fresh air hitting my lungs as I inhale
Exhaling, my mind calms down,
But you’re on the back of my mind,
And you’re on the front of my mind
My mind feels like it’s empty but it’s really only filled with you
Like a cup of water, the crystal clarity reflecting off the shine of the sunlight
The pace of our steps is the same but not my heart as we climb up these stairs that feel unfamiliar but aren’t,
Call it jamais vu and now I’m lookin’ at you
Infatuation clouds my mind as I struggle to find the right words,
Your eyes, like the moon, got me lost in ‘em
They ain’t white but they still as beautiful as the crescent above us
Still findin’ myself, but at least I found the words
They may not be right but they’re flowing out my lips nonetheless
It’s funny because it seemed like you weren’t lost,
Yet you struggled to find the same words that I said to you
You’re speaking such complex words,
Or at least I tell myself it's complex because all that’s on my mind is embracing you
I start to scream internally,
Afraid that you may be afraid of me, stepping backwards
Yet stepping towards me at the same time
How is it that you’ve made it so obvious but I still struggle to know what you’re thinking?
Missin’ you even though you’re right in front of me…
I creep beside you as we appreciate the varietal colours of the fall
Funny, ‘cause I’m falling for you
Hopin’ we see each other next fall too,
But I’m fallin’ for this opportunity in front of me,
But enough about falling,
You got your hand wrapped around my heart but it’s alright,
‘Cause now we’re about to embrace
Your body falls to mine,
And the warmth of it against mine like the moon against the black sky
With the wind blowing against our skin, like the stars of the night
Still, I fall back down to earth,
Because you’re not the moon and I’m not the sky,
But that doesn’t matter,
‘Cause, that’s how it feels when I’m fallin’ for you,
When I’m fallin’ to you.
