As Time Thaws

as the thousand stares meet in cold eyecontact
is it my warm face that melts infinity ?
or is it the longing for embrace that lacks
the harsh reality or glaring pity
that my mirrored reflection holds

they watch me when i need them most
the ever present star that tears
the ball of fire from my chest
and leaves a gaping hole for wonder
a hollow that sets desire alight

in stippled memory it fades
a moon behind the raven mist
protecting me in silence and blind shade
before the shadows soothe and kiss
the cheek of rain swept silence

Thanks for sharing this. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." God bless you.
