The Dearest Dead

Greetings, my love, from the grave,
Those you left behind; the bold and brave
What I wouldn’t give to once more see your eyes,
To see the beauty of another starlit sky.

I’ve missed you, dear, since you’ve gone
And drawn your final breath at dawn.
Those of us still alive and well
Must now be subjected to living Hell.

The pain engulfs me, the loss abounds
My anguish a shoreless ocean, my grief without bounds
My love for you remains, my passion forever ablaze
Even when the world has stolen from me the beauty of your gaze.

Each time I wake and don’t see your face,
I’m reminded of the warmth of your embrace.
Now gone is the dazzling candescence of your smile,
And now all joy simply feels juvenile.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
