The Sun's Employer

Lower your rays O harsh sun,
for they cast shadow on his grace.
Your laser beams invade the light in his eye
And cause him momentary pain.
I shall not forgive you for such things
He who is so radiant.
More radiant than you perhaps if you did not steal
From him, the light you project.
It was indeed his magnificence that provided to you
The great fire you harbour today.
And it is indeed him that you orbit,
For he is the centre of everything.
I see him twist and turn as you bounce on his eyelid,
For him, I could cast you away
But it is not in his nature to cause pain.
So, I shall abstain
For it is his love I seek, not your rays.
Go forth your orbit and leave us be,
Lovers under the moonlight, you a voyeur be.
Scintillating under the moon’s mono light
Which it seeks from him too,
For he is the power behind tide's blue.
Let us love more, just a night or two,
Form an eclipse and block out your rays
Even if it means we may be together for a bit.
I'd much rather have deprived skin
Then seek to you for warmth
For he is all the warmth I need,
The sun which I orbit.
He keeps me warmer than the job you do.
And needs not a night to regain his form,
Forever energised for me.
Perhaps it is time now,
For him to assume his place in the sky,
Remove you from the sad job you do.
Let him shine above and warm me,
Better than you’ll ever be.
