Replace Me

When your money is gone.
Who will buy you groceries?

When your hands don’t work.
Who will be the braun?

When your feet are sore from standing all day.
Who will unlace your boots and rub your legs?

Who will watch you at night?
To see if you can breathe alright?

When your back is stiff, from driving all night.
Who will rub your shoulders?

When life gets hectic and car accidents happen.
Who will make sure your assets are protected?

When you hear a love song.
Who will you think of?

When you put your health last.
Forgetting your scripts.?
Who will put it first and add them to the list?

When your stomach is empty and all the stores closed.
Who will make you a meal with no questions asked?

When you wake up.
Will it you be holding me?

Who will find your secret spaces?
Those places hardly explored.
A deep sexual trust.
Is it more than lust?

Mom, Dad, Brother, Sister, Cousin, Aunt?
Daughter, son, Uncle or friend?
No babe. Not them.

It’s me. It’s me.
The only one who can be.

So in love with you. ?
Your Bonnie. Your soldier. Your soulmate. Your Rider.
The only person who believes that you can be.
?Even more than you even believe.

My eyes flow with tears of frustration.
At what I need us to be.
At what I can’t get you to see.
All these values in me. Demanding yes.
But always for the best. For you. For me.

Not just a partner. A prize, a treasure.
Something you want to take care of forever.

I want you to hear me!

A silent scream trapped in my throat.
Please God give me hope.
That it isn’t just me. Who wants to make this right.
Show me the truth.
Is he the one I’m supposed to be with at night?
