They Call It The Change

I don't know what this is
It's not me
Some being destroying everything inside
But I can't see

Weak and fraught
Anxiety and pain
Think the dark will suppress
But morning comes again

My reflection in a window
It's up and ready in a flash
My confrontation in it's presence
Wants to smash my head in it's glass

My skin crawling
My body rejects who I used to be
I am not who I once was
It's taking over me

Scared, frightened
Appalled and sickened
What is the cause?

It's taking everything
But my bones
It's name 'Menopause
