The Cold Within

The Cold Within
I raise my face to the harsh wind
and let it blow thru my soul,
sweeping away the debris
that covers my heart

The harsh wind rains tears down my face,
and the dampness of them chills my skin
If they could only wash away the pain inside

My heart aches for the warmth of love
that is freely given
I become weary from the coldness of the world

Maybe the burning tears blinding my eyes
Will purify my soul

The Cold Within is freezing my heart
and I cannot find the love
that will warm my soul
