Beside the Banyan trees

You waited for me by the Banyan trees,
their roots dangling in the air,
reaching out to caress your soft skin
glistening in the early morning light.

We’d sit under their shade,
your head placed carefully on my shoulder,
watching the wall of crystal waters that
fell from the towering rock that stretched
to the sky, overgrown and drowning
in evergreen and spread into the spring
in which we dipped our feet on warm days.

With the roar of water falling and crashing
against my ears and the smell of mountain air,
I whispered to you in a rushed breath
I’d adore you until this water decides
to swim upstream.

Then eyes would shut with blissful smiles,
yet I’d wake up to the coldness of the night.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
