Awaiting the Warmth

Before me was spring
sapping away the cold and colorless
an awakening of hope
with promises of tomorrow
seedlings will be scattered by heavens breath
as long buried roots emerge
and ache for a taste of warmth
held hostage by nature’s bitter cold.

A warm welcome to Poetry Soup Divan. Spring, a time of new beginnings, where the sun awakens dormancy. A wonderful poem that embraces the spring season with longing appreciation. I look forward to reading more of your poetry. Aloha and Blessings, Connie
