Free-Falling

Fake smile, check!
Cute outfit, check!
I thought everything was perfect
But when I stare at myself in the mirror,
I see a broken soul with her eyes sore,
Tired and worn out, miserable and hurt.
Overthinking, where it went wrong?
When it wasn’t even her fault.
Call it a gut-feeling or a story foretold,
But she saw it coming knocking at her door.
Cruel and rude, I have no clue,
How I fell for the monster beneath you.
You were too beautiful to be true,
All those feelings to me were new.
Bewitched by your charm,
Gin-soaked in your arms.
Dreamy eyes, glamourous smile,
But your tongue is drenched with spite.
Wake me from this nightmare,
Take me back to the past.
When it was all smiles and talks,
Laughing and fighting, but making up.
Turned me to a toxic drug,
Changed me into someone I’m not
Guess I’m not your Barbie doll,
Hope you find your perfect girl.
Darkness covered me, it’s an apocalypse
Free-falling deeper into the abyss.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
