2 Meter Apart

YOU are on the hospital bed,
struggling for your last breath
but this time I too lost my faith because
can't stay beside you as I promised

Just being 2 meters apart I can't hug you???,
huuugggggg?????
I can't even touch you???
because they said, 2 meters apart is only the way
otherwise again you might take somebody else lives away...

Being too near, yet so far
just 2 meters, but thousands of fears
yes, fear to touch and fear to hug,
fear to lose but even fair to stand out there

but what do I do with being 2 meters, if I can't stand there to wipe your tears,
what do I do with being 2 meters, when I can't take off your fear.....

yes, fear from being closed with someone you loved ,
the fear to touch someone you cared, or
the fear of staying away being so near

NEAR ?? BUT
What's the point of being near when I can't wipe your tears,
even at your need I can't be there
To feel the warmth of your arms and the sensation of your touch
just 2 meters apart but unable to touch.....
but why we always used to live in so rushed????

Rush to walk here and there with unlimited doubts,
forgetting people near us and following the crowd.
forgetting the real touch and sensation of love
being so near sometimes technologies replaced the world.
busy with changing our Instagram feed following the trend
becoming a part of the new social media creed that even do not know we exist.
sometimes we lost our real connection and forgot the touch,
what it feels like if somebody hugs??.....

so next time when COVID ends,
will you hug someone you know and say Thank you?
yes!
Thank you for being alive,
Thank you for the hope ...
Thank you for the touch
because who knows Sometimes 2 meters could be the longest route you ever thought
sometimes you never got a second opportunity to touch someone to show yes you cared.
