Out of the Inescapable Mud

I can EXHALE

Not every day
Not every moment
BUT…

I can EXHALE

The Corona virus still runs
RAMPANT
But the ORANGE plague
Has been removed
Has been dulled
Has been silenced

SILENCED (at least for now)...

By a baby blue canary
A seemingly docile creature
With a ROBUST flock

An inhale of realism reminds us…

There is [still] HATE
in the air
There is [still] DEATH
in the soil
False statements [still] cloud the dark web
and even so
I can EXHALE...

I can EXHALE
Because out of the mud
out of the uncertain waters
The LOTUS has finally
EMERGED

Emerged in its
Clarity
Beauty
Calm
& steadfast nature

Electricity surges of shock
make it hard to conceive
BUT somehow...

Its grown beautifully out of the inescapable mud

The solo lotus knows there is a mountain of work to be done,
in order for more lotuses to emerge and bloom...

The shadows must become lit
The fires must be extinguished
The bright horizon must be observed and embraced

But even so the lotus made it to the surface
So maybe I can too…

Therefore…

I can EXHALE
Not everyday
Not every moment

BUT STILL…

I CAN EXHALE
