I Didn'T Know

You held me close,
You held me tight,
I didn't know that we would ever fight.
You kissed my head,
When you said good night,
I didn't know that it was a kiss goodbye.
You held my hand,
You told me that you loved me,
You told me that I was your forever,
But I didn't know that forever would end so fast.
You said you wanted me,
I didn't know that you wanted to use me.
So as these tears fall down my face,
And I remember the memories we shared,
I cut myself, but when I cut myself,
I can only think of you,
And the pain you left me in.

This is powerful and sad. I found myself cringing as I read the last few lines. This really had an effect on me.
