Precious Gifts

So long ago when I was young,
I had two little boys;
Their hair was blond, their eyes were blue,
they are my pride and joy.

Through the years, I tried my best,
to teach them as they grew;
To stand for right, throughout their life,
and live in faith and truth.

It's hard to be a mother,
as you watch your children grow;
And know you can't protect them,
even though you love them so.

For someday they'll be on their own,
to make their own mistakes;
And though you'd give your life for them,
The choices are theirs to make.

Down every road there's twists and turn,
No one knows what lies ahead;
But you hope that they'll remember ,
the things that you have said.

To me, my boys are treasures,
Precious gifts from up above;
And all my life I'll cherish them,
with unconditional love.
