Seesaw

At the park—your pudgy little boy hand
Grabbed my pudgy little girl hand
And we ran.
We ran all the way to the Seesaw.

You lifted me up, You pulled me down
My giggles of joy erupted.
You lifted me up, You pulled me down
Making sure you never hurt me.

Time goes by—My best friend ignores me
And it seems I have no one
Except you.
You have always been here.

You lifted me up, You pulled me down
Only you could make me happy.
You lifted me up, You pulled me down
Making sure No One would ever hurt me.

Now—I love you
Even though your feelings are certainly
Faded.
This distance you’ve created breaks me.

Still—Things have changed
And for the first time I’ll admit
It’s your fault.
But the seesaw still goes up and down.

You lift me up, You pull me down
You play with my emotions.
You lift me up, You pull me down
See! You’ve finally hurt me.

Relationships are sometimes off balance. When it is your family and not your friends, it is difficult to say goodbye, I don't like you. With family, there is an unconditional love, strong memories a bond that will never break, and it is impossible to say goodbye. Hope things balance out for you here. Great emotional poem. Welcome to PoetrySoup. Love, Shar

- i think that all of life is about balance. there is such an extreme tension between what is pain and what is pleasure. - i can sense that same tension in this poem... its beautiful
