Domestic Alien

Golden lilac lilies melt your heart until it’s gone
Traces of the organ rest floating in your blood
Sink, sink, sink your boat until the day is done
Come home to the words that stained you just for fun

Now I’m speaking in kaleidoscopes
Drifting through the things I wrote
My grandpa knows my backup plans
I hope I die with empty hands

Lovely distant strings move away until I’m low
The footpath of the cello ties me in a bow
Chase, chase, chase the boat, it carries empty shows
You’ll never know what to do until the pretense goes

Now I’m speaking in kaleidoscopes
Drifting through the things I wrote
My grandpa knows my backup plans
I hope I die with empty hands

Look around, hear the sounds
Hold the treasures that you’ve found
Feel the static in your chest
No more words, nothing left

Living through kaleidoscopes
Drowning in the things I wrote
Grandpa knows my backup plans
I hope I die with empty hands
