A Hero?

I wanted to run away, but I won’t.
I won’t run away from you.
Maybe I won’t fall for you,
And neither would you fall for me, too.

What is the probability of its possibility?
Does fate holds the key
That opens the door to this inevitable opportunity?
Are you just an incidental occurrence in my life,
Something that just passes by?
Or would you be a major player in my history,
Someone who stood by me ‘till eternity?

You initiated the outpouring of evidences
Of a future, sweet success.
You must have read my mind when you have spoken
Of my dreams and wishes, unknowingly.
How can you- almost a stranger,
Asked me to do something which I would have done willingly?
Did God give you to me
To bring beautiful moments to be treasured?
Or miserable times to be learned?

In my old age, will I retire each night
Asking myself these questions?
Or would you be there,
Holding my wrinkled hands, reminding me,
That my questions have been answered?

You started everything so beautifully…
I hope my naivety would not push me
To assume some more,
For everything is just a beginning…
And the path that separates now and forever
Is far and long.
