Nobody Came

Amma,
Yesterday the tree died. Many men came and cut it down and laid it on the road.

They laid the body on the road.
I went and said a few kind words. The tree had always been good to me.
In fact it had been good to everyone but nobody came Ma.

They took the tree's body away, I was not sure if they will burn it away or bury it. I wished it stayed longer with us.

What happens to trees that die Ma?

(Amma, Ma are synonymous with mother)

I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Your empathy comes through so clearly. Nicely done!

Dear Sunil, the poignant beauty of your poem takes my breath away. So many emotions course through me all at once as I experience my reaction to reading this deeply moving piece. To me, your aching poem symbolizes man's heartless disregard for Nature and the loss of Nature's witness to humanity's downward spiral. A must fav for sure. Thank you, it is with admiration that I read you! Warmest wishes.. ~Susan
