Loss To the Innocent

It's only for a brief while;
you said you'd get back.
And I know, to me, you won't lie;
soon, everything'd be back on track.

Time, healer of all wounds;
taking care of all that's wrong.
Time, lost waiting for your voice,
will be worth it, no matter how long.

The sandman comes, my eyes falter
in the darkness, my cell brings me tidings.
False alarm, gaining breath, I mutter
and wonder, have you gone into hiding?

A day has past, another day done.
My heart pines for tomorrow.
This day, for Thee, O rotten One;
for stirring my thoughts with sorrow.

Time, the rot, that lives in me
has set itself, on all pure & true.
Time, stealer of all those days.
I fight, to hold merry thoughts of you.

Yet, life goes on, at a hurried pace;
musings about you, lesser so.
Some thoughts sting, like a shot of mace;
the heart goes numb, then my mind lets go...

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
