Deceit

The traditional Cinquain.
A poem, I'm sure, everyone can relate to.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Deceit
Is like a knife
Opening up your heart
And causing it to hemorrhage
Always.
Deceit
Can scar your soul
Leaving you defenseless
Against a world full of vicious
Tyrants.
Deceit
Is a sick joke
That is played upon you
And you never see it coming
Ever.
Deceit
Will drive you mad
And make you scream in pain
You will never trust anyone
Again.
The repetition of the first line in each stanza strengthens and connects your thoughts. Deceit sure can be destructive. Interesting use of this form. Keep on writing. Karen
I like the flow of this series and how the word is defined in many different ways. I like the denotative and the connotative spin on the word. This is very creative and informative. Great job! ~Joseph
Wow. I have trouble doing one. Sounds like you have not had a very good experience. Guess we all go through it at one time or another, even on and off. Yes, well captured, in fact you have nailed it. Deceit has taught me not to trust, and sadly, it is a good thing. You will know when you can trust someone, after time, but most people have one thing they care about most, themselves. Sad lesson in life to learn. Time helps you sort out. Good luck. Love, Shar
