Death and Taxes

Death and taxes

This is what we do
Relax, take a break…..
This is how we feel
Relaxed!!!!
Underneath the shade tree,
This is where we sit.
A piece of heaven
Life, death,
All that’s left.
The never ending cycle,
And the cycle continues.
Though, somehow,
Somewhere,
The sentence ends,
The story is told
And the book is closed.
The sun goes down,
The shadow thins out,
The monsters you hid, come out…
Out and about…to play!
And now the tree, no longer just for shade
But to sit by and to breath by,
To spittle and to seethe by,
Remains the same.
And time doesn't stop.
Not even momentarily
Because,
Everything is temporary.
And to the contrary,
That can't really happen.
The book might still be closed,
But night, this darkness; continues.
That pain might still be close
But don’t let that confuse you.
Not like he used to…
Like how he used you…
I’ve got bruises too,
Just not brand new.
