Dream On

Shattered dreams, plans left undone,
Waking up to the morning sun.

Feeling a chill in the air,
Realizing that no one is there.

Words spoken in moments of bliss,
Swept quietly into the abyss.

Surges of pain, falling like rain,
Promises made and broken again.

Peddling up steam, struggling to survive,
Barely able to stay alive.

LOVE messes with your head,
LOVE creates the living dead.

Dreams submerged under the deep,
Are best left for those who sleep.

TIME is not our friend,
TIME signals it’s the end.

Create a dream that will come true,
Never give up until you do.

Shattered dreams and victories won,
Waking up to the morning sun.

Enjoyed reading your verse, Lois, I tend to keep dreaming no matter what life sends my way, sometimes we just have to recalculate our dreams. Welcome to Poetry Soup! John
