The Fourth of May

The fourth of May
My eldest’s birthday - bunkered down in some
London flat
Whiling the Covid days away
My wedding anniversary, in a previous life
But let’s not talk
About that
The fourth of May
Oh, the fourth of May
Etched upon my memory
Tugs painfully upon my heartstrings
Acknowledged
In a strange and wistful way

This is so well done. Welcome to Soup! It is difficult to be separated from our loved ones during this time; this came across loud and clear to my mother's heart.
