Requiem For a Mouse

Oh poor mouse
You picked the wrong house
No Buddhist I
Though I did nearly cry
When I wrought your end
I’m a treacherous friend
You begged to be my pet
I’m not that evolved yet
What a price to pay
For a crumb each day
At least it was quick
One more bad tick
On my karmic slate
Gluing my fate

Well-penned Sharon. For last twenty years mice wee most irritable disturbances in my house. At last They have all left, since Lock Down had started. Don't know, is there any connection with Covid . Any way I am relieved.

I have saved a lot of animals, but have never felt compelled to save a mouse so this one was easy for me to picture and smirk over.

All mice should be taught, when they have learned, we will know they have evolved, ha ha ha . . . : /

nice one! I have a cat to do the executing but he likes to make sure we see his catch as if to say he is doing his job and we should not begrudge him his canned cat food when he meows so loud for it! He is an evolved cat! lol

Good poem Sharon but I can top it, had some mice under my decking about 10 years ago, laid the trap and next day could not believe my eyes caught the mother midriff and baby’s head in the one trap, what’s the chances, I had mixed feelings about it, but had to be done or the house was next, sorry for being so visceral, cheers David

Death happens to us all, but for a mouse dying with a mouthful of cheese, who would shed a tear? Aloha! Rico

Ha, ha! I'm not that evolved yet either, Sharon. Not even close. Enjoyed the mouse's demise greatly. ~ No Mercy on Mice not named Mickey
