The Emptiness

I heard our song again today
The words hit me like a knife
I found the engagement ring today
I couldn't cry
I just sat and stared
I couldn't even scream
Trying so hard for anything to come out

I listened to the last message you ever left me
Before you hung up for the last time

I saw you today
Your happier now
Replacing me was easy
I loved you
All I see is those memories Of us
I tried to forget
The pain just grows in me

My heart feeling ripped out of my chest
As days turn into nights
Weeks turn into months
Goodbye was never uttered
From your lips to my ears
The piercing sounds of I will always Love you

I want to hate you
but as hard as I try my heart just feels broken
My bed has an empty space
where you used to lay

My phone doesn't ring or make a sound anymore
No more texts or calls
No more smiling every time, I see your name came up across my phone
My eyes aren't dry anymore
The tears fall every time you cross my mind
your name gets uttered

I dreamt of you again
Instead of a dream
Memories of you became my nightmare

You threw the bed at me one more time
Screaming I love you, don't leave one more time
As you close the door on me on us
No remorse
No goodbye was uttered

Heather the honesty and the feelings which you have described in such a terrific way will hopefully be cathartic.
