Im Sorry

Your presence is valued,
Your soul is divine,
I’m sorry I lost you,
I’ve been so unkind,

I’ve left you empty,
Silenced your cries,
Broke your spirit,
Kept tears in your eyes,

Searching for your worth,
You exhausted your mind,
Searching for happiness,
No joy did you find,

Invisible you became,,
Slowly started to decay,
Out of sight I pushed you,
Until your hope ran away,

Questioning your life,
Every breath brought you pain,
Dreading another day,
All alone you went insane,

I’m sorry for going blind,
I’m sorry for letting go,
I’m sorry for going deaf,
I’m sorry for pushing you so low,

I didn’t hear your desperate pleas,
I didn’t see your broken eyes,
I didn’t pick up the pieces of your heart,
I didn’t touch the truth disguised with lies,

I hold my head a little lower,
Forever will I carry shame,
Whispers torment me,
Disgusted by who I became,

Just to get one moment to hold you,
Caress your face and dry your eyes,
Dance to your favorite songs,
Under hot sunny skies,

My numb hands would hold yours,
I’d make a new start,
Meeting you where you hurt,
In my life's story, you'd be the main part.
