What Will Be the Words

As I walk among these tombstones,
There is peace amongst the dead.
I read each etched inscription,
What lives had they all led?
Were the words in stone the truth,
Or did some lie, to just save face?
Did they live with real integrity?
Or were they nothing but disgrace?
Do people still come visit them,
Do they walk here as I do?
Did life pile on a ton of crap
Or did they sail right through?
I come here to remember,
That each day I am above.
I still have much to conquer.
So that’s how I’ll show my love.
Cause even when it’s raining,
Or you’re buried deep in snow.
Whenever I need clarity,
I know just where to go.
As I pass through these stone markers
Of those who are now dead.
There’s still time to change the words,
That will be carved above my head.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

"time to change the words" - we all need to remember this and often! Daily! Hourly!
