Giraffe At the Watering Hole

Giraffe at the watering hole

She splays her forelegs one at a time
levering, leaving dignity
behind, easing down to a
half sideways split; then bends
to drink, hoping no
lion arrives
blood-blushing
head rush
up

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Very vivid... so true. Powerful write. Wish I could see it... You paint a lovely picture...I would be afraid of the lion too... Merry Christmas, and God Bless your New Year... Ann
