Can We Go Back

Can we go back,
way, way, back, to a time before the voyage or the chattels mattered, to a time and place where it was about the race, not the pace, about the journey before we decided what the destination should be,
Can we go back to a time where music was melody and rhythm came with a beat set in stone and hearts didn’t always appear cracked and you stood alone in life because there were no other alternatives not just because there is no one else there
Can we please go back to that place where friends where what you called those that where closest to us no matter the hue, tone of voice the choice was made without consideration for cost of life,

when was it simple, when did we begin to settle , terrorized by our shattered expectations that carry us into tomorrow ‘s aftermath that leaves us with time we had borrowed at the sake of a day we fear to embrace but we do not seem to fear leaving our children to that place
Where do women learn to except and celebrate that which makes them female and walk in the light, fusing the future with un-adulterated love that penetrates that fear that falls with night, when do we realize that the victor Is decided that moment we give up the fight, because winning at all cost was lost as an option the second we surrendered life as a right,

When did freedom become a place to grow, to many elected to sacrifice to give us a different flow, freedom is more than a privilege, some made it a life-long goal , they run this race with dedication, their only reward is to know that freeing the mind ultimately releases the soul,

the only way to understand my plea is to venture past the safe lie and visit the pure unknown, the rule that very few follow is that they approach this mystery alone, that is when the illusion over takes reality, that is where women go wrong, when the fear of standing outside of time makes the echo loud and strong, but prayer is louder then all, and God still sits on the throne,
I feel today like I am begging asking can I go back, back to a simple place where the race could just end like that, yes it is a busy highway, it is one long racing track, where no one seems on the sidelines, to be cheering and there is fear in that, there was time where the one’s you love drove afar to see you run your race, they encouraged you to move when it seemed you where lessening your pace, they shouted words of encouragement and their eyes excepted fate.
