Life Support

I remember the hospital bed
Cold, unforgiving as it was
With tubes stretching out like an octopus
Holding life ransom or saving it

The room and walls too
Painted white, the color of death
As opposed to the black we all seem to venerate
White slyly snatches the mantle
White walls, white funeral shrouds, white clouds to heaven

The waiting room should be dreaded most
Filled with guests, praying ones
What prayer they tell we cannot tell
Feet rustling, nurses hushing, doctors “sans joie”
Oh, how I hate the hospital.
Yet I think of how many have saved my life.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
