I Wish Our Friends Could Meet

I Wish Our “Friends” Could Meet

I wish our friends could meet one day.

I met my so called friend when I moved schools.
I quickly learned that this friend is truly not a friend.
his annoying friend, we’ll call her “she”, would tag along to every single class.

She wouldn’t allow me to speak.
How could I with the vice she kept at my neck?
The constant downgrading punches to my self-esteem left me empty and bruised.
I was deflated like a balloon that hadn’t reached it’ full potential and never would.

Then I met him.

You must feel like a third wheel around him.
I mean when I’m with him you seem to dissipate into thin air.
I wish his friend would get the same hint.

I call his friend “He”.

He likes to tag along and keep him from the crowds.
He likes to whisper hateful nothings in his ear.
But to him there not nothing.

You command him to not go on our dates
Instead we stay home…
Together.

This so called “friend” pokes and prods at my best friend.

I want to help.
I want to stop this bully.
I want our friends to meet and to become friends
Maybe more than friends; I mean they do have a lot in common.

Because then…..
Maybe then……

They will let me and you be us.
