Life Goes On

Life goes on

How does life go on when it ends for the one you loved? When your entire world has been torn apart by heart shattering grief, how does it go on. The colors have dimmed, the laughter has been silenced, and the smiles will no longer warm your heart. how does life go on when the sun’s light no longer brightens your days? When the memories of a life you once had, flood back, drowning you in pain and anguish. how does life go on when it feels as if your heart no longer beats, and you struggle to pull for your next breath? They say that time heals all wounds. Will the passing of time be my savior, or will it be my tormentor? Will time heal the deep wounds that I have suffered, or will it remind me every day of what I have lost? How does life go on when my faith has been shattered? Will I be able to put the pieces back together? But the sobering fact is, life will go on, but it will never be the life I once knew, and I will always grieve for.

                                                                V.M. Tackett
