Always

Months of adjustments
A new home
Strangers on every street
Morning came it feeling bleak
Walking to the door tiny yips barks galore
The door swinging inward
a small black blur storming in
With fear in their eye the small ball of fluff
Didn’t even ask let me in
Laying on the ground looking at one another
Time froze with us together

Years later still here
With two new furry felines
Still together forever
Adventures with one another and more
Plenty of scares
You always there
With your scruffy fur
and patient ways
Days of lose an pain
Seconds later you numb the pain
From the tribulations of my mind
To the fear that time is always passing by
always there
To save the day
Laying by my side
Rivers of tears stopped by a blockade
My puppy
My pet
My friend
Lilo my puppy
Thank you for giving me purpose
Giving me strength to stay
Thank you forever and
Always
