Cats

CATS

I thought about the dream you had
The one with me and the cats.
The cats...
They are my emotions
Pouring out of all the walls
and every God damned ceiling fixture
Unable to tell one from the other
because there are so many of them that they just blur together
Like an ocean...
An overwhelming ocean of cats.
And you have no idea what to do
or how to react
So you just call me crazy
So damn crazy

But me…
I think I am just so massively lonely
that I don’t know how to breathe
without swallowing the entire room
So instead,
I just try to hold my breath
as to not drown you in utter madness
But it leaves me feeling dead
and leaves you...
craving my resurrection.

Some powerful feelings oozing out of this poem, touching me in corners I have sometimes hidden even from myself. Well done, Deanna. Keep writing and keep posting!
