The Great 8

We started as 8 with the unique zest of life in our own way, but it was not to be for eternity for the first come in was the first to leave. This began for each of us a deep long look at our own mortality. Not many years later with a sudden surprise another left us grieving as they traveled to their resting spot high up in the sky.

Now 6 remain so we hold on to each other so tight In hopes that many years pass before another takes flight. Hugging each other we don't want to let go because we have no knowledge when one of us will be the next to go. Each of us knows the ones that have gone have made it to a place where our previous loved ones were waiting at the gate, but it doesn't make our hearts grief less great.

All we can do is cherish those left behind and hope and pray time goes slowly by, so the 6 that remain don't feel the loss of yet another take flight for many years so we can have more hugs and hold each other tight.
