Ill At Ease

"Ill at ease"

Killing the genius within
Living off of these vices, fuelled by sin
Greatness to behold, a has-been
The stench of hypocrisy is slowly sinking in behind the scenes

Seeping in the crevice of the mind, a new personality
An anomaly ebbing the heart, nurturing iniquity
Greatness to behold, lack of propriety
The sight of a flourishing mindset in ruins heightening enmity

Drunk off the poison, inhaling toxic fumes
These hitmen walking among people, plaguing with gloom
Overshadowing the flower whose desire is to bloom
Gluttonous, everything will be consumed

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

Beautifully put, I loved the way you threw in the flower whose desire was to bloom. Welcome to Poetry Soup, Vince. Keep writing!
