Lifelong Existence

I don’t claim my insight’s prodigious.
I’ve never performed noble deeds.
I’m not in the least bit religious.
I have all the usual needs.
Still, I have discovered the portal
To freedom from worry and strife:
It’s realizing I am immortal—
I mean, for the rest of my life.

Ha, very nice! I do this in short bursts. When I get into bed I soothe myself that nothing bad can happen to me here. Immortal... til the morning. Like your coping mechanism Ed! (Fab rhyming too!)
