I breathe in when you breathe out,
You go north when I go south.
I have a fake smile full of sadness that weighs me down like a boulder,
And you have this beauty you carry proudly on your shoulders.

My heart flutters at the sound of your voice,
I fell in love so fast, I felt like I didn't have a choice.
Try to escape the trap I fell into,
But the truth is, I fell into you

You tell me you love me, I go completely blind,
Forever and always, you're on my mind.
They always say don't do drugs,
Little did I know your love was my drug.

Falling in love breaks your heart,
you left me to fend for myself in the dark.
Losing you was like forgetting how to talk,
I had to start over, start from the top.

It's been 6 months, and I'm still wounded,
Yet I'm crawling back, and the truth is...

I fell in love on a cold November night,
Laying in your lap, everything felt so right.
Beatles playing on your phone,
I opened out and let my heart roam.

This is profoundly smart, Tatum. "They always say don't do drugs, Little did I know your love was my drug." I love it that you are crawling back, not bouncing back, because crawling back is genuine. Welcome to Poetry Soup. Keep writing.
