Low Level

Iv been looking for a place to plug into
Levels are so low 
Way below the line
We waited 

For years it rained
Every morning like clockwork
The trees shook
And the birds took off

Later I dragged my shadow 
through the mud 
Betrayed by the sun
I no longer followed
