Go Home, Haley

Go Home, Haley

If you could see what I see—
A soul that’s wild, but meant to be
So much more than smoke and flight,
You’d turn your face back toward the light.

Your laughter once lit up the air,
You danced like you belonged nowhere,
But you belonged—you still belong,
Where hearts are weak, but roots are strong.

Your baby’s eyes are growing wide,
She needs her mama by her side.
At night she whispers soft, alone,
“Will Mommy ever come back home?”

Your mama’s tired, her health is frail,
Her voice gets thinner, hands more pale.
And Grandma’s fighting hard to live—
Still pouring out the love she’d give.

But every day you slip away,
Chased by ghosts you won’t obey.
Those streets don’t love you, never will—
They feed you lies, they keep you still.

I know you ache, I know you bleed,
I know you run from every need.
But deep inside, beneath that pain,
The real you calls like soft spring rain.

You’re not just scars or glass or smoke,
You’re warmth and strength that never broke.
The girl who once believed in dreams—
She’s trapped beneath the silent screams.

I see her fight, I see her cry,
Still reaching for a bluer sky.
And if you’d let her rise and breathe,
You’d find the will to finally leave.

Go home, sweet Haley, not someday—
The time to rise is now, today.
There’s still a place that bears your name,
A child who loves you all the same.

Don’t let regret be all that’s left
A lifetime hollowed out by theft.
The drugs will never hold you tight
But family waits with a porch light bright.

So take that step, you’re not too far,
They still remember who you are.
Go home, go back, you'll find your way—
They're praying you’ll return one day.
