One More

If we could have one more conversation
I know exactly what I’d say
I’d start by saying I’m sorry
For taking you for granted in anyway
I’d tell you I love your stories
I’d hear them a million times
And that you never were an inconvenience
Even if I seemed so busy in my life
I’d tell you I’m sorry for any fights we had
And for ever getting upset with you
I know you were just being a parent
And doing exactly what you were supposed to
I’d tell you that I may have acted, as if I didn’t hear what you said
But I promise that every word that you spoke
Is part of who I am today
I’d tell you how much I love you
And how much I need you in my life
And how I feel lost without you
How, everyday is a struggle just to get by
I’d tell you how upset I get
And how everything seems so unfair
And that I pray to the Lord’ above
As if somehow you’re going to appear
I’d tell you how important you are
And how much you mean to me in my life
And not to worry on how your raised us girls
Cause I promise Mama, you did everything right
