Fool Me Once

Wow me; mister
have I kept save my fortune
in the itchy palms of a trickster?
who lives away in Neptune?

Oh - such a tender talent, so sweet
He'd bath his promises in sugar
so that I fell for his tingling tweet
and then stick at me his venomous tongue of a cobra

Ah. I made a common thriftman
become a huge success
whilst I made me, the opposite man
What is this terrible sense?

I see the fool he's made of me
I wonder what beginning is there at this end

Welcome to Poetry Soup. An amazing start for you. I am going to look up "thriftman" right now, as it is a new word for me. A nice sonnet. Good luck in the contest.
