Shadow

It holds me in its grip
Of cold calculated madness
It won't let me go
Holding tight, squeezing
I am fading
Turning into shadow
Still it holds on
Feeding off what I feel
Hopelessness
Failure
Despair
The feeling of nothingness
It grips until I am numb
As it lets go I am certain
Of one thing only
That I will fade away
Become a shadow
Leave no mark on this world
Leave nothing behind me
But an empty paper trail of failure
And no one will care
Because I'll make no impact
I'm nothing but a shadow
The unknown and unseen

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
