Soft Eyes

I

I look with soft eyes,
On you,
A tear I can't but cry,
Slips down like softest dew.

I know no love so deep,
As this,
Nor sorrow to make me weep,
In joyful bliss.

No other have I ever known,
Nor will,
To make my love a thing to own,
Forever and until.

II

I chase. I call aloud your name,
You turn,
My heart is set aflame,
I cannot help but yearn.

"Be mine," my soft eyes plead,
We see,
Into each others hearts, the need,
Is so clear. You flee!

III

I look with soft eyes,
On a world of pain,
I quietly fade away,
And die.
