A Whisper So Softly

Beaten down, broken
A woman so sad.
Don't know how I got here,
Didn't realize what I had.

Can't help but to wonder
I question God up above.
I heard a whisper so softly,
He said, "It's you, you've got to love."

So I sat there alone
And I started to cry.
I don't know how to do that,
But I'm willing to try!

Where do I start?
And how do I begin?
I heard a whisper so softly,
"My child, you must first look within."

So I sat and took inventory
Of all of the baggage I've claimed.
And I started to realize something,
I'm not completely to blame.

One day at a time
Is all I can do.
I heard a whisper so softly,
"My dear child, I've got you!"
