Psa, America

A landmass discovered in 1492,
A country established for me and you,
Now cover darkness with scenery,
Plastered “purple mountain majesties”.

O’ beautiful for spacious skies,
Gun violence conducts the children’s cry,
For amber waves of grain,
Nothing ceases the infinite pain.

America, America,
Hear our roaring plea,
America, I ask America,
For a great change to see.

Remember Lady Liberty,
Who stands to represent prosperity,
“I lift my lamp beside the golden door”,
Except today light shines no more.

What caused Eric and Dylan to hold the gun
What induced Nickolas Cruz to shoot then run
There should’ve been a stop since the days this begun
Now Adam Lanza pulled the trigger and then there was none.

America, America,
Lets initiate this peace treaty
America, now I ask America,
When are we really free?
