I was born in Warwick, Queensland nearly seventy-four years ago, one of a family of eight.
I lived on a sheep station until I was eleven, doing correspondence lesons with my mother. We moved back to Warwick, where I attended school, where I was not happy and no great student.
After leaving school I worked mainly in the country, as a "Mother's Help", "Domestic," etc.
In the 1980s I enrolled as a mature student at university doing a BA in "Aboriginal and Intercultural Studies. I finished the course with a "B" average. I also have a Graduate Diploma in Cultural Heritage Studies.
My illegitimate son had been born in 1975, so after that I drew a "Supporting Mother's" pension supplemented by cleaning jobs. It was mainly under the influence of one couple I worked for that I did the "Mature Entrance' exam, etc.
I met my husband in 1994. We lived together until 2002, when we married. We had both lived in Western Australia sinnce the early 1970s.
I have been writing poetry since I was quite young. I enjoy doing it, but recognize my limitatioins. As an astrologer, I understand that it was not given to me to be a genius! The idea that anyone can do whatever they want to do is, of course, rubbish. Shucks, I might want to be the world's greatest gardener, but with no earth planets in my natal chart I couldn't grow two beans in a row.
My father, on the other hand, had a very heavily "earthed" horoscope and was an excellent gardener. Incidentally, the devotional nature of so many "Soup" poets could probably be traced to their natal charts!
Politically, I am decidedly Left Wing, so obviously don't think much of the current crop of politicians, in Australia or America.
