Summer Fruit

Ripe juicy berries
Sweetened by the summer sun
Succulent delights

Dusk

Red haze shimmering
Lighting the soft lake ripples
Engulfed by darkness

God Sent You An Angel

God sent me an angel
to see me through my day
God sent me an angel
to nudge me on my way
God sent me an angel
to follow me on my path
God sent me an angel
so I wouldn’t live as half

God sent me an angel
to stand right by my side
God sent me an angel
to be my silent guide
God sent me an angel
to see me through my life
God sent me an angel
so I could live through strife

God sent me an angel
to keep alive my soul
God sent me an angel
to help me to my goal
God sent me an angel
to guide my way back home
God sent me an angel
so I wouldn’t be alone

God made me an angel
to help you on your way
God made me an angel
to be sent to you each day

My Fearless Heart Lost

I tumbled and turned
In such graceful ways
I threw myself down
In polished displays
Spinning on the bars
In aerobic plays
I rose up so high
In a whirling craze
Perched high on the beam
My small frame amazed
My parents watched in awe
Of my fearless haze

The tumbles got harder
And weakened my knees
Puberty beckoned
With growths that displeased
Curvy shape so adored
Hindered spinning ease
The frequent aching
Became a disease
Gymnastics, my love
No longer a breeze
My heart became heavy
My soul to appease

Now that I’m older
My brain’s pain embossed
Adult reasoning
Risk assessment crossed
Days gliding through air
Risk of body tossed
I see the dangers
The fun over glossed
Movements I now fear
At what a great cost
To gymnastics love
My fearless heart lost

Ants

Crawls to the surface
Foraging to feed the nest
An infestation

Sweet melodic song
Celebrates season return
To fill empty nests

Lightning Strikes

Dark forboding Sky
Looms over the quiet earth
Lightning strikes its prey
